Born in Osaka, Japan, I earned my degree in English Studies from the Ritsumeikan University in Kyoto after graduating from the International School in Osaka. I then moved to Germany in 2000 to specialise in business translations and interpreting.
Since then, I have worked for the Japanese External Trade Organisation (JETRO), various companies, institutions, TV stations, etc., delivering high-quality linguistic services whenever needed.
Half Japanese, half German, I’ve lived in both countries and have been educated in both languages from an early age. I am a member of the Federal Association of Interpreters and Translators (BDÜ), the industry’s largest professional association.
I am translating and interpreting from German and English into Japanese and vice versa. When you and I work together, you can expect excellence in regards to your communications. I am committed to providing high-quality and reliable linguistic services.
Some notable moments in my career timeline include interpreting at the 33rd G8 Summit, during the 2006 FIFA World Cup and 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Germany. I also enjoyed working for long-term projects such as the “Vermeer art exhibition” in Japan in 2018 or “From Renaissance to Rococco.” in 2012, for which I attended the meetings with curators and museum directors over 5 years. Movies I subtitled include the multi-award-winning German “4 minutes”, the multi-award-winning Japanese “Sweet Beans” as well as the Japanese 2008 Hit Animation “Ponyo”.
For 20 years, I am engaged in Continuing Professional Development, participating in seminars provided by Chambers of Commerce, the Institute of Translation and Interpretation (ITI), the Japanese External Trade Organization (JETRO) and the BDÜ.
